We made this interactive painting with a family of brown bears that were to be translocated to a wild park on the forested outskirts of Zurich many years ago. The bears, all of whom had been born in captivity, were being translocated from an austere concrete enclosure into a a new pine forested sanctuary that allowed the bears a refuge from the world; a lake to fish and pine needles under their feet. Suzi and I decided to attempt to simply track their transition, and take evidence of their tracks in their new home. It was however not the wild just a better place…
